Buses Replace Trains between Ronkonkoma & Central Islip on Saturday, April 2 & Sunday, April 3 for Double Track Construction & Other Maintenance Projects
Buses will replace trains on the Long Island Rail Road’s Ronkonkoma Branch between Ronkonkoma and Central Islip over the weekend of Saturday, April 2 and Sunday, April 3 for Double Track construction and other maintenance projects. The work will begin at 12:37 a.m. on Saturday and continue all day Sunday, wrapping up at 12:32 a.m. Monday, April 4.
Customers will take the train to Central Islip where they will board buses for Ronkonkoma with up to 23 minutes of additional travel time.
At Ronkonkoma, customers will board buses up to 23 minutes earlier than usual train times and travel to Central Islip, where train service will resume. A westbound train, the 11:25 p.m. from Central Islip, will depart at 11:40 p.m., 15 minutes later than normal.
Customers who want to avoid the busing program might consider driving to Central Islip, Brentwood or Deer Park stations where the parking is free.
